Multipurpose vessels were built for Northern Lighthouse Board (m/v Pharos) and one for Trinity House (m/v Galatea) in 2008. Basic project were delivered by the Owners, technical and workshop documentation was prepared by RMDC in cooperation with the owner representatives.
The main functions of the vessels are to lay, retrieve and maintenance navigation buoys by using a 30 t Liebherr crane. The vessels are also capable of towing, hydrographic surveys, wreck finding, transportation of personnel using safe workboats or helicopter (an equipped helideck was installed at the fore deck).
