Virtus is a tractor tug with 55 bollard pull and reinforced hull to meet ice class L3 requirements for tug boats operating in the Baltic Sea according to PRS notation. The unique location of rudder propellers just underneath of the superstructure more toward fore side of the hull gives great manoeuvring possibilities. This tug have the best parameters in narrow port basins. However it can also operate on open Seas particularly in A2 area.
The tug is equipped with one towing winch with 150 kN pulling force with automatic tensioning and towing tension monitoring systems. The winch is locally and remote controlled. This winch together with two anchor winches as well as a capstan are hydraulically powered from a common power pack in the machinery room.
All accommodations, wheelhouse as well as control room are air-conditioned.
The vessels are designed from scratch up to final as built design in RMDC.
